Stories that wait for your child.

Story Time is a calm read-along app for iPhone and iPad. A gentle voice reads Swedish fables aloud, one word lit at a time, and your child can tap any word to see what it means in English or Bahasa Indonesia.

Inside the app

The Story Time bookshelf: painted book covers with Swedish titles and their English translations. Three are marked Free, the others show a small lock.
Eight Swedish fables to start. The first three are free.
A story page: the hare and the tortoise, with the sentence Haren var mycket snabb. The word snabb is highlighted in yellow while it is read aloud.
The word being read lights up, so your child can follow along with a finger.
A story page with a painting of a fox jumping for grapes and the sentence Han hoppade. Han hoppade igen. Men druvorna satt för högt.
Every page has its own painting. It moves very slowly, and you can switch that off.

Made to be put down

Many apps for small children are built to keep them watching. Story Time is built for ten quiet minutes with a grown-up, and then bed.

The first eight stories

Short retellings of Aesop's fables in simple Swedish, five to seven pages each.

Price

Three stories are free, with no account and no time limit.

Story Time Premium unlocks every story, including new ones as we add them, for $19.99 a month. That is the planned price; the App Store sets the price in your country. You can cancel any time in your Apple ID settings.

Questions parents ask

Do I need to speak Swedish?

No. The app reads the Swedish aloud for you, and every word and every page has its meaning in English or Bahasa Indonesia.

Can Story Time help with my child's speech?

Story Time is not therapy, and we make no medical claims. It is made for reading together: a slow voice, words you can point at, and nothing that plays by itself. If you are worried about your child's speech, talk to your doctor or a speech therapist.

What age is it for?

Toddlers and preschoolers, reading with a grown-up. The sentences are short and the pages are calm on purpose.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. The stories and pictures are inside the app, and it reads aloud with the Swedish voice built into your iPhone or iPad. If that voice is not installed yet, the app shows you how to add it.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. Story Time is being made for iPhone and iPad first.
